George Toriello sent me this researched information on January 2, 2020 on George J. Bryceland. According to military records, George J. Bryceland was born March 11, 1925. The 1940 Federal Census reveals he was living at 23 Jefferson Street in Passaic, New Jersey at the age of 15. Did his family move to Hackensack after the Census and did he attend school up to 1943? or was employed in town? Possibly, I do not know at the present time. What we do know, as a fact is George J. Bryceland is listed on the Plaque at City Hall, revealing those who gave their lives while in military service during World War II. Military records continue to reveal that on November 26, 1944, PFC George J. Bryceland was KIA while serving with the 319th Infantry Regiment 80th Infantry Division in France. George J. Bryceland is buried in Lorraine American Cemetery and Memorial St. Avold, France. His mother Mrs. Elizabeth Bryceland signed the headstone application while living at 34 Norwood Ave. Click here to view Grave marker.
